Rural Organizing Initiative (ROI) is an independent organizing leadership group.

ROI is dedicated to preserving democracy by helping people who live in primarily rural areas become empowered to participate in the electoral process by encouraging voter registration and assisting first time candidates to run for local, nonpartisan offices.

With the normal turnover in election organizing, many rural areas have traditionally struggled to maintain systems that consistently carry over from election cycle to election cycle. We will work to maintain existing systems and improve where it helps.

ROI is already working to connect voter engagement groups across Arizona who are working to turn out progressive voters. We provide training for ground level outreach as well as providing guidelines for organizing groups to help ensure maximum voter turnout.

By helping educate groups on best practices for how to engage with and maintain relationships with both volunteers and voters, and creating a HUB for organizers to connect and support each other's efforts, ROI is making it possible to energize the electorate in areas that have been traditionally hard to reach. ROI will help organizers learn ways to maintain institutional knowledge and keep consistent contact with voters.
